About Lyons Ranch

Welcome to our Ranch

Lyons Ranch Horse Boarding opened in 2013, but the beginnings trailed back to my grandparents in Manitoba many more years ago.  Wes and Dot Lyons had a great influence in the passion and interest in the care of horses today in the beautiful foothills of Southern Alberta.  Take a drive down Horse Creek Road west of Cochrane, Alberta and you will feel the deep western culture.

We are a family operated boarding facility with my parents, Harold and Nora Lyons and myself Sue Cook.  Harold and Nora being retired cattle and grain farmers from Manitoba, still wanted to remain in the farming setting so we created Lyons Ranch Horse Boarding.  Primarily focused on pasture board, we do offer other services as well.  Our main motto is to just let a horse be a horse when they are off duty or retired.

Having focused on the horse most of my life, I continue to upgrade and experience what I can to learn more about what the horse has to offer.  Through years of natural horsemanship clinics, becoming an Equine Canada Coach, continual clinics and lessons through amazing horsepeople, I have reached an understanding that the more you learn, the more there is to learn!

So, if you would like to join out journey, come and have a look around to see if we are the right fit for you and your equine partner.
